All Souls church
Washington DC
As a young girl
The place I wanted to be
Staring at your walls
With the flyer, posters art
Headphones on my ears
Pursuing vinyl darts.
Round, round the circles go
Impression on my heart.
Opened up frontiers
Places to embark.
930 was a legend
But the shows I wanted to see
Were in the rotted basement
Of the church that let it be
“Let it ring
Don’t be satisfied
With the setting of the sun
Let it ring
Don’t let it stop.
Until we have true freedom”
But I was very young.
And still listened to my dad
It was so close though
But never to be had.
Dreams pass away.
Time and places grow up.
The need to be careful
Bout the things that we touch.
Quote from Shudder to Think’s Let it Ring.
