This is a space where I have a mid life crisis, write about my creative journey, and talk about songwriting and share bits of terrible poetry.

Alibi

Tell me your allibi
I’ll tell them where you went and why.
I got your back my friend.
no need for you to pretend

You might be going there alone,
But I’m with you just pick up the phone.
It’s a matter of life and death
I’m having a hard time making sense

Running for the line.
I can buy you precious time.

Running for the state line.
Don’t get caught and you won’t pay no fine.
Don’t listen to what the men say,
They don’t know about this, No way.

Don’t you be afraid.
I have got your ticket paid.

And when you’re safely there.
Close your eyes and say a little prayer.
You’re doing the best you can.
A real pity they can’t understand.

But know the day has come.
some things can’t be undone.

We’ll make it out of here one day.
This isn’t something that I lightly say.
They’re trying to get us down.
Thinking we won’t make no sound.

They try and take our rights.
but I will help you in your fight.

so, Tell me your alibi.
I’ll tell them where you went and why.
I’ve got your back my friend.
No need for you to pretend.

running for the line.
I can buy you precious time.
