I am setting a release date of Oct. 17. That will give me a little over a month to finish what I am working on.

I am marrying music and words but not in song for the most part.

Most of these bits of music were also written during the stream or in the 6 month period after. These are orphan ideas that i didn’t know what to do with. I was waiting for them to become songs, but maybe they aren’t? And that is okay?

This is what I play when I sit down at the piano in the evening or when I pick up the guitar in the morning.

I am using them as a background for reading the poems. I wasn’t planning on doing this, but I really love how some of the files are turning out.

In a strange way bc the music is incidental to the poems it takes some of the pressure off the music. It doesn’t have to be anything. It can be good enough. It does not need to be perfect.

Will all the poems have music? Probably not by Oct. 17 but I am guessing I will get to around 30 of the 41. Some probably work better read without accompaniment. Especially the shorter poems.

It’s been a world of fun to work on this aspect of the project. There will be an audio chapbook on SoundCloud where you can listen or read along. I think the reading and acting of the poems are important to understanding them. I write in a rhythmic style that isn’t always apparent on the page.

I am pretty excited about this, although likely no one will care.
