I didn’t get a pumpkin for the front door this year.
No grinning Jack O’ Lantern.
No roasting pumkin seeds.
There have been to many demons visiting of late.
The ones that announce themselves as rings on the phone at 9 am.
Echoing. echoing.
Please come get me.
That your demon’s have been visiting you of late Has awoken my own.
The ones I packed away in the basement and are now covered in dust.
I thought I had thrown them away long ago.
But now yours have shown up unexpectedly At the front door begging for treats. Always needy. Always wanting more.
Mine have come unburied covered in mud Ready to great them. Almost gleeful. That you have your demon’s too!
I am so used to their antics. Taking the full sized bar of chocolate And wearing outlandish constumes. Always wanting more. Always throwing a fit when you can’t feed them anymore.
I am worried you haven’t learned yet. You feed them too much. They will frighten you with their everwanting.
I will try and show you. Invite them in. Give them milk and cookies And then send them on their way. Don’t let them stay. and ruin your day.
