This is a space where I have a mid life crisis, write about my creative journey, and talk about songwriting and share bits of terrible poetry.

Recording:

Comfortable shoes.

Sweats and a t shirt.

No jangling jewlery.

Phone off completely.

Quiet shoes.

No perfume. Or scented products.

Flonase just in case.

Water bottles at the back.

No sugar.

Except the Ricola during breaks.

Only water and limited coffee or tea.

No onions or garlic.

Be kind to your fellows.

Long day.

Be on time.

Bring a back up battery.

Prepare for frustration.

This is how we show our appreciation

For the pieces we helped create

So others may hear them too.

A Deep Devotion.

A Prayer.

Note: the choral group I sing with, The Concord Women’s Chorus (CWC), is spending two days professionally recording the seven pieces we have commissioned over the years. This is the culmination of a long term project and a reminder that music exists on a totally different time scale than poetry. it’s hard work, but is a joy to participate in. We are very lucky.
