“What might have been lost…”
(FEFA, T4, end)
Listen closely
You will hear her cry
Amongst the chorus of the bulls
The boys are always aware of her
They sing to please her.
Who has the fastest trill?
The deepest bark?
The longest note?
20, no, 30, counts.
They never overstep.
She is larger than they are,
but quiet.
She chooses.
And will choose again next year.
At this same spring puddle
That will be dry by July.
But before that
She will gently lay fertilized eggs in the water.
and simply walk away.
The Wolves
I have a cover of this I did on mandolin. I have to work it up but will post it later. It’s funny this is very comfortable range for me and a stretch for him. Voicing is fascinating.
Bonus: this what I have been listening to at night. And why I’m writing about frogs.
