This is a space where I have a mid life crisis, write about my creative journey, and talk about songwriting and share bits of terrible poetry.

Krishna to Arjuna

Arjuna looks at the crowd
gathered behind an elderly man.
shouting nonsense at the sky.

They are wrinkled just like you are.
Some bald as a baby is.
He sees their sweat and the blood pumping behind thier eyes.

My god, they are just like us.
(Despite some questionable fashion choices)

Their voices raised in angry chants.

What happened to them?
To be filled with such hate.
I do not wish to slay them.
I just want to have a beer with them
And maybe we can figure it out.

It’s not fear that stops him.

It is a sadness that we have become so disconnected from each other.

Krishna to Arjuna:
Seeing yourself in them isn’t a bad thing.
Bc the things that seperate you are small.
You could easily be them.

But you forget your duty.

What separates you.

Sometimes it is hard to discern what that is.
But you are aware of their actions.
They cause harm.
Remaining silent for momentary peace
For a fake forgiveness is not an option.

Witness and speak.
They have harmed you.
Your family,
The vulnerable.
The immigrant washed up on your shore.
The nation.

And ultimately the world.

You see this too.

To stay silent.
To turn the other cheek
Is not neutral.
Is not mercy.

Your duty is clear.
